International Women’s Day 2020 #TalkingTruths

Headstart Network Foundation hosted a phenomenal ode for International Women’s day.

Headstart has been the ecosystem enabler for the startup ecosystem for more than a decade and strongly believes it can be truly enabled by doing it equally.

The event was celebrated on 7th March in Coimbatore, Mumbai, Pune, Patna & Raipur by hosting meetups in their respective cities. It was an occasion to reflect on progress made, to involve change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an unprecedented role in the history of their communities.

There’s a rise of women working across fields, from desk-job to creative fields to male-dominated professions like construction, to offbeat careers like yoga and journalism.

Highlights of the event –
The meetup was held closed doors across cities where women stepped out and shared about their journey and how women and girls continue to be undervalued; they face pay-scale parity; and experience multiple sorts of violence and daily patriarchy challenges. How her ability is being questioned at every step despite a proven record of success.

Furthermore, there is significant support as the event witnessed a lot of men attendees too which is a sigh of relief that now the support is a two-way street.

With so much energy and enthusiasm across cities, Headstart has pledged to make 2020 count for women and girls everywhere and thrive for a better equal ecosystem.
