Honeywell initiates collaboration with Startups; confirms participation at HeadStart 2009

The HeadStart Foundation is in discussions with several large corporates to involve them in a collaborative effort aimed at identifying and executing new business opportunities in partnership with startups and companies with new products. Honeywell is one of them and we expect to have an announcement made in December during the Startup Saturday at Bangalore.

Honeywell today confirmed that two of its top executives, Harsha Angeri, Director & Lead, Strategy & Initiatives and Yella Veera Prakash, Head, Research & Technology, Honeywell Technology Solutions Labs would participate at the upcoming HeadStart and Compute 2009 conference organised by the HeadStart Foundation and the Association of Computing Machinery, Bangalore.

Harsha will speak and take questions from the demo pit while he participates at the Innovation panel on the 9th of January. Prakash will speak at the Customer panel on the 10th of January and will talk about emerging business opportunities in the control & automation and aerospace verticals.

Harsha drives strategy planning at Honeywell. He is responsible for identifying new growth opportunities and incubating them. Harsha is involved in Honeywell’s effort to build new businesses to exploit growth opportunities by applying Honeywell technologies into relevant markets. As part of Honeywell’s Business Innovation Center, he has led an effort to help set up a new business for Honeywell in the area of Dependable Electronics Systems for Automative systems. He has built businesses in healthcare, enterprise security, residential security and is currently involved in building businesses in retail mid-markets, assistive technologies and enterprise storage for Honeywell.

He drives innovation activities in the globalized centers of Honeywell and focusses on developing new practices in R&D and business models. He drives Honeywell’s open innovation network in emerging regions through startup mentoring and relationships with venture capitalists and incubators.

His strategy experience spans Aerospace, Automotive, Healthcare, Automation and Security. Harsha is also involved in corporate development through M&A and divestiture activities. Prior to joining Honeywell, Harsha was with Andersen (business consulting) and at Siemens Public Communication Networks. He holds an electonics and communications graduate degree, is an alumni of IIM Bangalore and has completed an executive education program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
